I remain extremely committed to providing the highest possible level of satisfaction for the directors I serve, which ultimately benefits the students enrolled in the instrumental music programs in the Tidewater region of Virginia. As a performing percussionist for 45+ years and a band director for 31 of those years, a great deal of practical knowledge and hands-on experience has been gathered in dealing with the workings of a wide range of percussion instruments, with proper maintenance and repair procedures being very high priorities. My passion for designing, modifying, and constructing numerous percussion-related items for use in education and performance during my professional career led to the establishment of Percussion Solutions. The combination of being a performer/director/technician provides a unique insider’s prospective on not only how an instrument works but also how it gets used and what can be done to ensure the longevity of its optimum tone production. When asked, I welcome the opportunity to share this knowledge with directors and students as part of the service I provide.
